DerbyD&D aims to bring one of the world’s favourite Table Top Role Playing Games (TTRPG) to people in the area. Not just because it’s fun, but because it genuinely benefits mental health by providing a safe place, facilitating connection and developing skills.

The journey began with Roll With It in the summer of 2023, a series of workshops aimed at teaching 12-17 year olds how to play. It broke down the mechanics in 3 hour chunks with the final workshop culminating in an intense combat scenario where they put what they had learnt to practice. It was a huge success and I look forward to more dates for Roll With It to take place in the summer of 2024 along with its follow on workshops Roll With It Again which will be a more indepth look at character creation and Roll With It Your Way which helps those who want to DM themselves but don’t know where to begin!

I am excited to share that the funded sessions at The Grand Pavilion in Matlock Bath have been a huge success and will continue to the end of June 2024. It is mine and my collaborators hope to keep bidding for funding and keep these going along with our other ideas.

I have had also had the pleasure of DMing for several hired one-shots including a birthday party for one of my young players who has attended my workshops. I have learnt so much and look forward to my future bookings!
